Prayers in School

The Court has banned prayer worldwide in public schools. At a school football game, a student tried to lead a group prayer.

The Federal Court stated, "Even if we regard every high school student's decision to attend a home football game as purely voluntary, we are nevertheless persuaded that the delivery of a pregame prayer has the improper effect of coercing those present to participate in an act of religious worship."

I think it should be up to the school if they want to have prayers or not there. Yes, there are many different religions in the world but if someone do not want to participate then they shouldn't have to.

I agree with adriana. If someone wants to pray they should be allowed to, but other studenst shouldnt be forced to.

The choice of praying should but up to the person doing it. People came to America in the first place to not have restraints on their religions.. they shouldn't be putting restraints on it now.

school prayers is a good thing to be banned at school. not every one is the same religion and people may get offended by praying.

the choice to pray should be up to the person praying. if they want, someone should be allowed to pray.

I agree with Adriana. If someone wants to pray, then they can do that if they wanted to.

honestly, if the players want to pray before their game, i dont see what the big deal is. as long as theyre not like forcing their religion on people, theres no problem.

Whether a person prays at school is up to them, they should have a freedom to do so, but no one should be forced to.

I think if someone wants to pray in school they should be allowed but if you dont want to pray you dont have to.

i believe that prayers in school shouldnt matter. kids should be allowed to express their religion freely and openly.

The choice of praying is up to the person. Theres nothing wrong with praying in public as long as your not disturbing anyone

That was the most beautiful blog I have ever read. It made so much sense. I think the current law, that a teacher can't lead in prayer, makes sense, but students shouldn't be penalyzed for it. I also think that teachers should be allowed to talk more freely about religion. (=D)

which ever atheist made this law should be impeached. he or she let his views get in the way fo childrens views. the child should have the choce to partake in a prayer or not.

I think that people should be allowed to pray because they have the right but nobody should be forced to pray.

I think that banning prayer is completly rediculous. It expands even furthur because technically, students aren't even allowed to pray together during lunch. It's dumb, students should be allowed to pray at school.

i think there should be always prayers at school. the kids should be able to choose whether they want to or not though.

i think this is riduculous because people have their own rights. if they want to pray...let them. i thought this was a free country

Prayers should not be allowed in school because someone could end up offended if we are praying about something that does not agree with their religion.

I think that children should be allowed to pray if thats what they would like to do, religion is something that people believe in telling them that they can not communicate by prayer at school is not a fair thing to do.
